Cevagraf has embarked on its new path towards the digital world in the service of graphic arts since 2013. Although these were ideas and projects that had been around for a while and were maturing, assuming that our client was demanding a change, we organized a work team of personnel who were not immersed in the traditional mentality of the operations that we had had until then.

We saw the need to carry out a renovation , we had to think differently and we initiated modifications in various basic aspects of the company's operation, so much so that dedicating almost half of the staff to management, veterinary email database administration and commercial tasks seemed inefficient to us, and our digitalization began in a more advanced way.

Creating a print-to-print website to begin digitization
With the intention of reducing as much as possible the resources, personnel and costs used in the management and administration of the company, Cevagraf printing began the activation of its first "web to print" . It was the basis of our digital transformation, in this way we intended to put into practice those changes that had been maturing over time.

Thanks to the implementation of the website, the first thing we saw was the immediate possibility of reducing sales staff and so we proceeded to relocate all staff, without having to make any layoffs. The digitalization of a business has nothing to do with staff reduction, it was clear at all times.

Introducing this change in mentality that a "web to print" system requires initially led to a simplification of the product , as we went from offering almost a thousand references in types of paper to thirty or forty, which, in essence, are what the client usually requests.

Advantages of a “web to print”
The advantages, coming from a well-thought-out structure rooted in traditional systems and processes, were evident from the start. Thanks to the help of HP with its HP SmartStreamProduction Center, we realized that the keys were above all simplification, standardization and automation, and digitizing our processes was the first step.

According to the global vision of Cevagraf professionals, the essence, the real leap forward is not achieved solely and exclusively with the incorporation of digital printing technology as a mere complement to the traditional offset production line, the digital transformation must be at a global level, but rather:

Automating the entire management process is a giant step towards controlling, at any stage, the status of an order and the specific reality of each client.

After overcoming the first phase of the crisis, Cevagraf realized that in order to be prepared for the future, it needed to make a technological change.

The change and the digital transformation process involved all areas of the company , starting with internal management and administration, going through the production process, and ending with its online commercial presentation.
