Google is restoring the publication of reviews and photos on business cards

Post by ritu800 »

After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, reviews and photos are gradually appearing on business listings on Google Maps.
In mid-March, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Google decided to stop publishing photos, videos, and reviews on Maps . Shortly after, the handbrake was also pulled on other activities on Google listings (including editing contact details and verifying new locations).

For a few days now, new and suspended reviews have started to appear on Google listings, also in Poland. Photos and videos currently added to locations in the Google My Business panel are also published in the standard mode.

A Google spokesperson, asked a few days ago about the bulgaria number dataset content issue in Maps, replied that Google already publishes user reviews and photos in all countries and for most types of businesses. He added that the amount of content will increase over time (implicitly, reviews and photos added during the suspension will appear).

From my own experience, I can confirm that Google Location is (gradually) returning to normal. This week, a customer's listing had photos in the body of a review that was posted in March. The review counter on his listing also started showing the correct number of reviews. Another customer posted several photos on his listing last week (including a cover photo) that immediately appeared officially in the photos section of Google Maps.

Another example of content returning to Google Maps is spherical photography in the form of a virtual tour. A presentation of this type, published in March, appeared on Google's business card a few days ago.

Naturally, for some industries and listings, content may still be suspended and you will need to be patient.

Back to the old-new reality on Google Maps
The above information is optimistic. It gives hope that we are slowly returning to a relatively normal mode of operation. This means that it is worth resuming all the activities that you have been undertaking so far in terms of Google My Business location. I mean publishing entries, photos, videos, responding to reviews and obtaining new opinions.

Many companies are already operating almost as they did before the pandemic, which their customers are not always aware of. Through a Google business card (specifically, entries), they can announce that they are open on such and such days and hours. And that they invite you to their store/office/saloon after a longer break.
