Google News Content Policies
The content of sites related to the following topics is not displayed in Google News. If your site falls within this scope, you will not be able to appear on News platforms:
Dangerous content
Misleading practices
Harassing content
Hateful content
Media with distorted content
Medical content
Terrorist content
Sexual content
Violence and blood
Vulgar language and profanity
You should think about why Google should show you on its News platform. Can you produce and present valuable and relevant content to users?
-You must display your sponsored or advertising content in a way that distinguishes it from the main content:
- Avoid giving false information or check the content produced during the Google News process with a second eye and publish it that way. Google does not prefer to display sites that provide misleading or false information within its own services.
-Who are the people who create the news on the site? It is important for both EAT and G-News that the employees, their full address and contact information are clearly stated on the news site :
Regarding its transparency policy, Google made a statement on June 1, 2021, once again mentioning the importance of this issue. It also took serious steps to determine trustworthy content with the "Trust Project" :
Sites that violate the transparency policy in Google News may not appear in the news area even if they are registered. Google may make some exceptions to the content policies, depending on whether the sites are in the public interest.
-It would be better to produce content on a topic that demonstrates your expertise in the industry. For example, if you are an expert in economics/finance, show Google this expertise with evidence and informative articles.
