Founded in 2002, Flash Engenharia is a company located in Sorocaba – SP. It seeks to offer technological solutions adapted to special vehicles, thus valuing excellence and quality in its services, in order to save lives and be a reference in the audiovisual signaling market.
With competent and committed professionals, Flash Engenharia has reached the milestone of 25 thousand vehicles throughout the country. 2. The Challenge
Our client, Flash Engenharia, wanted to optimize its production by standardizing processes and reducing rework. In addition, it wanted to ensure real-time monitoring of production results and provide a better working environment for its employees.
With this in mind, Process Mapping combined with the implementation of Visual Management and the 5S Methodology has proven to be an efficient solution for solving the problems mentioned above.
3. Knowledge used in the project
The Project lasted 7 weeks and took place as follows:
Data collection: we analyzed the current scenario in which Flash was operating. In other words, we analyzed the work environment, layout of the production line, operation of the line and interviewed employees. This allowed us to understand the reality of its operations and identify the main points to be improved, taking into account the current line. This step was extremely important for the development of subsequent steps. Given that only after understanding the company's reality could we provide personalized consulting services for its needs;
Process Mapping: this is the stage where we map the company's processes in order to standardize them. In addition, we identify the main bottlenecks in the line and provide suggestions for improvement in order to completely resolve them;
Visual Management: we developed a visual management model for the production line so that managers could monitor the line's productivity in real time and anticipate possible delays in the project;
5S Methodology: we developed an Implementation Plan and a Spreadsheet for auditing. In this sense, we chose to implement the methodology following the top-down structure , that is, managers would adopt the 5S culture so that line employees could be inspired. This is possible due to the Implementation Plan (a report that contains the implementation plan for the methodology) and the Spreadsheet (a tool used to measure the evolution of the 5S level in the company).
Mapping
In this sense, it can be observed that process mapping and visual management would be responsible for two essential points. Ensuring a reduction in the number of errors in the process (taking into account the standardization and real-time monitoring of activities). And the 5S methodology would be responsible for ensuring a better work environment for employees (both in relation to the physical environment and the culture of continuous improvement).
