Fix broken internal and outgoing links

Post by ahbappy250 »

Broken links are another sign of a poor user experience. No one likes to click on a link and find that it doesn't take them to the page they expected.

You can find a list of broken links, both internal and outgoing, in the Site Audit report: the advice is to fix and identify the problems by updating the destination URL or removing the link.

20. Find and fix HTTP links on HTTPS pages
Most sites migrated from HTTP to HTTPS some db center whatsapp number time ago, but it is still common to find that internal links point to HTTP pages, rather than the current version.

Even when there is a redirect to direct users to the new page, these are useless, and you should aim to update them as soon as possible.

Check the HTTPS report in Site Audit to spot any issues.

If there are only a few broken links, update them manually in your CMS. However, if they are site-wide (which is often the case), you will need to update your page templates or do a search and replace in the database.

Talk to your developer if you are unsure.

21. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly
Mobile-friendliness is a key factor in Google rankings. Since mid-2019, Google has officially switched to mobile-first indexing for all sites.

If you don’t offer a mobile-friendly experience, you’ll see your organic visibility suffer.

You can check your site's mobile-friendliness with Google's Mobile-Friendly Test .
