For medium-sized businesses, social media is still a great way to gain more traffic and brand awareness. With your audience growing, you may find it worthwhile to start experimenting with the content and frequency of your posts.

1. Define Who
Start by determining who your competitors are on each platform . This includes competitors inside and outside your industry.

Typically, your industry competitors are present on the same platforms as you. You can also identify other brands that your customers follow on social media to get inspiration on the types of content you should create.

2. Determine Where
Identify which social platforms your competitors are using . You will need to figure out if there are any gaps that you can fill by creating an account.

Are there platforms your customers use to interact with other brands they follow? Try to stay up to date on new platforms as they start trending. You don’t always need to build a presence there, but it’s important to know where your communities are.
