In the first week after its debut, Threads broke all records. Meta's Twitter clone surpassed the 100 million user barrier in just five days (thus surpassing the frenetic growth rate of ChatGPT) and shortly after the app reportedly reached 150 million users. Even experts were left open-mouthed by the sensational launch of Threads, a social network that is, not in vain, orphaned (at least not yet) from a whole plethora of features.

However, after its impressive debut, Threads has begun to suffer the hardships of everyday life first-hand . Yesterday, Monday, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram (the social network denmark phone number data Threads is associated with), announced a series of measures to combat spam on the new Meta platform. Among these measures are limits on the number of posts that Threads users can read daily on this social network (something that Twitter already did a few weeks ago, by the way).

This measure has been ridiculed by Elon Musk , the owner of Twitter, who was once criticized for imposing the same limits that his competition has now decided to implement .

What is beyond doubt is that spam attacks are becoming more and more noticeable within Threads . And users of this social network are increasingly complaining about the proliferation of accounts on this platform (behind which there are obviously bots hiding) that promote gambling and cryptocurrency websites.

In addition, the initial curiosity about Threads seems to be waning. According to data from Sensor Tower, the number of daily active users on Threads on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week was down 20% compared to the previous Saturday. Moreover, the average time spent by users on the Meta social network is said to be just 10 minutes a day, half of what it was when Threads was first launched.
