Guterres calls on Big Tech to work hand in hand with governments to mitigate risks posed by AI

Post by Mitu100@ »

While some tech companies are putting in place systems to prevent AI from being used for criminal and potentially nefarious purposes, Guterres believes there is still much to be done. He believes governments and international bodies such as the UN need to ensure that AI is a force for good.

"The UN Advisory Body on AI has already made some preliminary recommendations on AI governance to harness the benefits of this incredible technology while simultaneously mitigating the underlying risks," he stressed.

" We urgently need governments to work with technology companies on frameworks for managing the risks of ongoing AI development and for monitoring and mitigating potential harm. A systematic effort is also needed to improve access to AI and ensure that developing countries can also benefit from malaysia number screening its enormous potential. We need to narrow the digital divide rather than widen it," Guterres said.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI , one of the leading companies in the field of AI, said last Tuesday in Davos that advances were urgently needed in the energy sector to meet the future demands of artificial intelligence , which will consume more energy resources than people expect at first glance.

According to Altman, the good news is that there are now more environmentally friendly energy sources such as nuclear fusion and solar energy that will fuel AI in the years to come.
