Drop Shadow Effect

WordPress 6.5 will introduce a drop shadow effect for more blocks. Here are some of the blocks where users will be able to use the drop shadow effect.

Just click on the block and find Border and Shadow in the Style panel.

Smarter overlay colors for cover blocks
The cover block can now automatically select the overlay color based on the background color of the chosen image.


Rename a block in list view
WordPress 6.4 allowed users to rename group blocks in the list view for investor database better understanding of what each group block contains.

WordPress 6.5 will take the next step and allow users to rename any block in the list view.

Right-click a block in the list view to display the Settings.
Previously, you had to click the three-dot menu next to a block to see its Settings in the list view.

In WordPress 6.5, you can right-click on any block to see its settings.

Link Control Changes
Link control in version 6.5 highlights pages on your blog and homepage using different icons to distinguish them.

Right after adding a module or when you click on a link, a context menu appears.

Users can check this page to see where the link goes. It automatically retrieves the title of the linked page and displays action buttons to edit, delete, or copy the link.
