Bag-housing design has advanced significantly to facilitate better maintenance, improved safety, and enhanced environmental compliance. Closures may include swing-bolt A-clamps, quick-release cam locks, or hinged lids secured by pneumatic over-center clamps—or even completely bolted lids for high-pressure applications. These access points can be supplemented with lifting handles, torsion springs, gas springs, or hoisting lugs, especially for larger housings where removing a lid with multiple bags can be physically demanding. Sealing technologies are also evolving: gaskets are made from various elastomers including EPDM, Viton, silicone, and PTFE-encapsulated designs to ensure chemical compatibility and provide airtight sealing.
