Who are the professionals most at risk?
It may seem strange to you, but there are professional categories that are particularly exposed to the risk of burnout. These are workers in positions of responsibility , those who operate in very stressful emotional contexts, professionals forced to have strong relationships with their clients.

The “helping professions” , which include health workers, job function email list caregivers, social workers, law enforcement, teachers, have always been considered among the professions with the highest number of workers affected by burnout. Over time, however, researchers have observed that the syndrome can manifest itself in any particularly stressful work environment.

As for healthcare workers, it seems that burnout comes from the high risk of being emotionally involved in the patient's illness and its implications. It is no coincidence that those who work in contact with cancer patients, AIDS patients or people with HIV may suffer from burnout in particular. Although it is not a profession, those who care for a sick or non-self-sufficient family member (people with dementia, disabled children) are also considered exposed to burnout.

Even among teachers there is a significant emotional component, aggravated by the many hours of work and stress, which leads them to create a profound detachment from their students.

In this sort of emotional closure the worker feels less efficient, loses self-esteem and feels he is achieving lower results than before.

Are you wondering if there are cases of burnout among your colleagues or employees? Or if you yourself have symptoms of burnout syndrome?
